Job Description
A key pivotal role who will oversee tax compliance and advisory for Lazada Express
- Responsible for the preparation and/or review of indirect tax returns for Lazada E-Logistics Malaysia (1 entity) and Singapore (2 entities) companies
- Responsible to review corporate income tax returns prepared by tax agent for Lazada E-Logistics Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore companies
- Responsible to prepare/review all Malaysia withholding returns to ensure compliance to the tax law
- Ensure tax reporting procedures and compliance are complete, accurate and compliant with local legislation
- Responsible to review tax provisions and disclosures in financial statements to ensure that they are correct and accurately reflected
- Manage tax planning opportunities and mitigate tax risks by identifying tax issue, providing practical option (supported by financial analysis) and recommendation to direct manager or management
- Provide practical tax advices to Malaysia business on day-to-day operations and ad hoc tax and/or business lead projects
- Provide support and practical tax advice to business on custom/GST matters on operations in Free Trade Zone
- Work with finance and Regional Tax team to respond to tax queries, handle tax audits and provide audit updates to the management
- Monitor tax regulatory changes and advice on impact on the Company’s tax and transfer pricing policies and practices
- Build and maintain relationships with internal tax departments, external tax advisors as well as tax authorities
- Responsible for supervising the tax reporting, tax planning, and compliance function.
- Supervises the completion of accurate tax returns in order to minimize the tax obligations of an organization.
Job Requirements
- Must be familiar with regulations at the local level.
- Require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty.
- Reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
- Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.
- Typically requires 3 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contributor
