Job Description

Join Biji-biji as an enthusiastic and energetic intern and as front person for the Sustainable Events and Programming team. You will get the chance to engage with Clients, running research in procuring from green and ethical suppliers, and getting your hands dirty in building and production! As an active member of the Sustainable Events team, you are also expected to play an active role in event set up, tear down and logistic arrangements. You will
also play a considerable role in running our ME.REKA Makerspace .

If you are someone who can effectively deal with ad-hoc challenges, keep calm in pressing situations, be flexible with last-minute changes, and still have a positive attitude throughout, then you are who we want! We are a team of supportive and creative, fast-thinking problem solvers. A superb team spirit hold us together, in and out of the workplace!

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • To work closely with the Events & Programming team in managing clients and projects
  • To be Front of House in ME.REKA Makerspace and handle walk-in clients
  • To research, propose and prototype new workshop/programming modules
  • Tasks may also include some manual labour e.g heavy-lifting, unloading lorries, event set-up and tear-down
  • You may be required to work evenings, nights and weekends for event set-ups and tear-downs. Replacement leaves and/or allowance remuneration will be provided in these instances
  • Other tasks and responsibilities, not limited within the Sustainable Events andProgramming team, as and when needed

Job Requirements

  • Possess background or interest in Mass Communications, Event Management, Event Marketing, Business Management, Project Management, and Education/Training experience or any related field
  • Proficient in English and Malay written and communication skills
  • Interest in prototyping new workshop modules, including testing, design, and writing modules
  • Interest in client and project management and researching
  • Interest in conducting workshops
  • Soft Skills: Great team player, ability to stay calm and positive, good communication and social skills, creative, openness to learn and try new things
